How to register for the COVID-19 vaccine
Here is how users can get themselves registered for the vaccine using the CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu app.
What documents you will need?
Any of the below-mentioned ID with photo may be produced at the time of registration:
- Aadhaar Card
- Driving License
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) Job Card
- Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
- PAN Card
- Passbooks issued by Bank/Post Office
- Passport
- Pension Document
- Service Identity Card issued to employees by Central/ State Govt./ Public Limited Companies
- Voter ID
How to Register through CoWIN portal
- Visit the CoWIN website and click on Register/Sign in yourself.
- Add your mobile number and click on Get OTP. After receiving the OTP, type the digits on the site, and click on ‘Verify’.
- Enter all your details, including photo ID proof, name, gender, and year of birth on the ‘Register for Vaccination’ page. Once this is done, hit Register.
- After you register, you will get the option to schedule an appointment. Click on ‘Schedule’ next to the name of the person registered.
- Add your pin code and click on Search. The centres in the added pin code will appear.
- Select the date and time and click on ‘Confirm’.
How to Register through the Aarogya Setu app
- Open the Aarogya Setu app and click on the CoWIN tab present on the home screen.
- Select ‘Vaccination Registration’ and then enter your phone number. You will receive an OTP and then you can proceed to verify yourself.
- On the ‘Register for Vaccination’ page, enter all details, including photo ID proof, name, gender, and year of birth. Click on ‘Register’.
- After you register, you will get the option to schedule an appointment. Click on Schedule next to the name of the person registered.
- Add your pin code and click on Search. The centres in the added pin code will appear.
- Select the date and time and click on ‘Confirm’.

Download vaccine certificate without beneficiary id
You can download covid-19 vaccine certificate from CoWin website or app as well as the Aarogya Setu app. Wondering how to go about it, follow our step-by-step guide:
There are currently two vaccines that are being given to people — one is the Covaxcin developed by Bharat Biotech and the other is the Covishield developed by the Serum Institute of India.

What will you require ?
- Latest version of Aarogya Setu app
- Beneficiary Reference ID
- Active mobile number
How to download the Covid-19 vaccination certificate using Aarogya Setu App:
- Update the Aarogya Setu app on your phone.
- Open the app and click on the CoWin tab.
- Now tap on the Vaccination Certificate option
- Then enter your beneficiary reference ID.
- Finally, tap on the Get Certificate button.
Note: Recipient reference ID is provided at the time of vaccination registration.
Here is how to download the Covid-19 vaccine certificate:
The moment you get your first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, you can download a provisional vaccination certificate for which you will receive a message on your registered mobile number about the same along with a link to download your certificate.
- Tap on the link you received on your number.
- Now enter your phone number to verify once again.
- Then tap on download to get your certificate.
Note: The certificate is very important so do not forget to download it once you get your first dose. You will also be notified about your second dose on your registered phone number.
On completion of the second dose, you will receive a message for completion of the vaccination schedule. The message will include a link to download a digital certificate of vaccination.
The certificate will contain the name, date of birth, beneficiary reference ID, photo, vaccine name, hospital name, date, and other details.
