If you have received your vaccination certificate but see an error on it, you will now be able to correct it through the CoWin portal.

To make the process seamless, a special feature called ‘Raise an Issue’ has been added to CoWin platform, said the Union health ministry.
Users can log in to make corrections to their name, year of birth and gender on the Covid vaccination certificates, if there are inadvertent errors. For this, users will have to visit www.cowin.gov.in and ‘Raise an Issue’.
“New citizen-friendly feature on CoWin. Now correct the errors in the vaccination certificate yourself,” tweeted Vikash Sheel, additional secretary at the Ministry of health and family welfare.
How to rectify cowin vaccination errors?
- Go to www.cowin.gov.in
- Sign in by entering your 10-digit mobile number
- Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your phone
- Click on Verify & Proceed
- Go to Account Details
- If you are vaccinated, you will see a “Raise an Issue” button. Click on it
After the issue is solved, you can download the covid vaccine certificate normally.

How to register for the COVID-19 vaccine
Here is how users can get themselves registered for the vaccine using the CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu app.
What documents you will need?
Any of the below-mentioned ID with photo may be produced at the time of registration:
- Aadhaar Card
- Driving License
- Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour
- Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) Job Card
- Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
- PAN Card
- Passbooks issued by Bank/Post Office
- Passport
- Pension Document
- Service Identity Card issued to employees by Central/ State Govt./ Public Limited Companies
- Voter ID
How to Register through CoWIN portal
- Visit the CoWIN website and click on Register/Sign in yourself.
- Add your mobile number and click on Get OTP. After receiving the OTP, type the digits on the site, and click on ‘Verify’.
- Enter all your details, including photo ID proof, name, gender, and year of birth on the ‘Register for Vaccination’ page. Once this is done, hit Register.
- After you register, you will get the option to schedule an appointment. Click on ‘Schedule’ next to the name of the person registered.
- Add your pin code and click on Search. The centres in the added pin code will appear.
- Select the date and time and click on ‘Confirm’.
How to Register through the Aarogya Setu app
- Open the Aarogya Setu app and click on the CoWIN tab present on the home screen.
- Select ‘Vaccination Registration’ and then enter your phone number. You will receive an OTP and then you can proceed to verify yourself.
- On the ‘Register for Vaccination’ page, enter all details, including photo ID proof, name, gender, and year of birth. Click on ‘Register’.
- After you register, you will get the option to schedule an appointment. Click on Schedule next to the name of the person registered.
- Add your pin code and click on Search. The centres in the added pin code will appear.
- Select the date and time and click on ‘Confirm’.
