How to Wire a Two-way Switch Light / How Two-Way Switch works
Two way switching Circuit : wiring connection with working example
Staircase lighting circuit : How to wire using two way switches
In this article, we will show you how to wire a circuit to turn a light on or off from two different locations. We are going to refer to this light control circuit as a two way switching circuit.
Components Required for Two Way Switch Connection
- Two 2-way switches
- AC supply
- Bulb
- Connecting wires
SPDT Switches
Before we get started, we need to introduce you to some switch terms.
If we are going to turn a light on and off from 2 different locations, we need 2 Single Pole Double Throw or SPDT switches.
A SPDT is called a 2-way switch in the European Union, and a 3-way switch in North America. A SPDT switch has 3 terminals. It will have one terminal in and 2 terminals out.
Two-way Switch Wiring using Two-wire control
This is the first method to make a 2-way switching connection, this is the old method. If you are going to install a new one then go for three wire control methods.

As you see in the 2 way switch diagram above, you will find that the phase/live is connected with the common of the first 2-way switch. PIN1 & PIN2 of the first switch are connected with the PIN1 & PIN2 of the second switch respectively. One end of the bulb is connected with the Common Terminal of the second switch and another end of the Bulb is connected with the Neutral line of the AC power supply.
How to Connect two way Switch Wiring using Three-wire control
This is the new method to make a 2-way switch connection and it is slightly different from the two-wire control method. This method is commonly used nowadays as it is efficient than the Two-Wire control system.

As you can see in the Schematic Diagram of 2 way switch circuit above, the common of both the switches are short-circuited. PIN1 of both the switches are connected with the phase or live wire and PIN2 of both the switches are connected with the one end of the lamp. The other end of the Lamp is connected with the Neutral line of AC power supply.
Uses of Two-Way Switch:
- Mostly in the stair case.
- A big room having two entry/exit gate.
- Erroneous tripping of safety/circuit protection equipment.
- To control any AC appliances like fan or light from two places like entry and exit.
Summary :
– A SPDT is called a 2-way switch in the European Union, and a 3-way switch in North America.
– A SPDT switch has 3 terminals. It will have one wire in and 2 wires out.
– Each terminal on a SPDT switch has a name. The input terminal is called Common. The output terminals are called Normally-Open and Normally-Closed.
– Turning a light on and off from 2 different locations requires a 2-way switching circuit.
– A 2-way switching circuit requires 2 SPDT switches.
How to Back Up and Restore a MySQL Database : Easy Tutorial
It is essential to important to make regular backups of all data in case of loss. Has your MySQL database has been lost, and you’re scrambling to restore a copy from your last backup?
In this tutorial, we present two easy ways to back up and restore your MySQL Database.

Prerequisites
- A Linux operating system
- MySQL installed
- An existing database
- Mysqldump utility (should be included with your MySQL software)
Back Up from the Command-Line with mysqldump
The mysqldump client utility can dump a database including the SQL statements required to rebuild the database.
By default, the dump file includes the SQL commands to restore the tables and data.
To back up your MySQL database, the general syntax is:
sudo mysqldump -u [user] -p [database_name] > [filename].sql
- Replace [user] with your username and password (if needed).
- The [database_name] is the path and filename of the database.
- The > command specifies the output.
- [filename] is the path and filename you want to save the dump file as.
Other examples:
To back up of an entire Database Management System:
mysqldump --all-databases --single-transaction --quick --lock-tables=false > full-backup-$(date +%F).sql -u root -p
To include more than one database in the backup dump file:
sudo mysqldump -u [user] -p [database_1] [database_2] [database_etc] > [filename].sql
How to Restore MySQL with mysqldump
Step 1: Create New Database
On the system that hosts the database, use MySQL to create a new database.
Make sure you’ve named it the same as the database you lost. This creates the foundation file that mysqldump will import the data into. Since the dump file has the commands to rebuild the database, you only need to create the empty database.
Step 2: Restore MySQL Dump
To restore a MySQL backup, enter:
mysql -u [user] -p [database_name] < [filename].sql
Make sure to include [database_name] and [filename] in the path.
It’s likely that on the host machine, [database_name] can be in a root directory, so you may not need to add the path. Make sure that you specify the exact path for the dump file you’re restoring, including server name (if needed).
Using phpMyAdmin to Back Up or Restore MySQL
If you’re running phpMyAdmin backing up and restoring your MySQL database is simple.
The export function is used as a backup, and the import function is used to restore.
Step 1: Create a MySQL Database Backup
1. Open phpMyAdmin. On the directory tree on the left, click the database you want to back up.
This should open the directory structure in the right-hand window. You’ll also notice that, in the directory tree on the left, all the assets under the main database are highlighted.
2. Click Export on the menu across the top of the display.
You’ll see a section called “Export Method.” Use Quick to save a copy of the whole database. Choose Custom to select individual tables or other special options.
Leave the Format field set to SQL, unless you have a good reason to change it.
3. Click Go. If you select Quick, your web browser will download a copy of the database into your specified downloads folder. You can copy that to a safe location.
Step 2: Clear the Old Database Information
It’s important to clear out old data before restoring a backup. If there’s any old data, it isn’t overwritten when you restore. This can create duplicate tables, causing errors and conflicts.
1. Open phpMyAdmin, on the navigation pane on the left, choose the database you want to restore.
2. Click the check all box near the bottom. Then, use the drop-down menu labeled With selected to select Drop.
3. The tool should prompt you to confirm that you want to go forward. Click yes.
This will get rid of all the existing data, clearing the way for your restoration.
Step 3: Restore Your Backed up MySQL Database
In phpMyAdmin, the Import tool is used to restore a database.
1. On the menu across the top, click Import.
2. The first section is labeled File to import. A couple of lines down, there’s a line that starts with “Browse your computer,” with a button labeled Choose File. Click that button.
3. Use the dialog box to navigate to the location where you’ve saved the export file that you want to restore. Leave all the options set to default. (If you created your backup with different options, you can select those here.)
4. Click Go.

12 Tips to Sound Smarter instantly : Easy Tips and Tricks
How to sound Smarter when speaking
In today’s tough business world, being smart isn’t enough – you need to sound smart to get people on your side. We all want to come across as intelligent when we speak. People who speak well seem smarter, no matter what. Thankfully, speaking well is a skill you can learn. Here are twelve easy ways to sound more polished and intelligent right away.
Ways to Sound Smarter while talking
1. Plan Ahead
Whether you are in a private conversation or at a company-wide town hall, the most important thing you can do is make yourself heard, loud and clear. This can be daunting for an introvert—and for the rest of us. The key is preparation. If you’re interviewing for a job, review the posting and take advantage of the whole googleplex of information about your prospective company. If you’re attending a staff meeting, check the agenda. Going on a date? Plan some talking points, even if they’re just about favourite TV shows or movies. Feeling prepared will put you at ease and boost your confidence.

2. Listen
It sounds simple, but listening is a major key to appearing intelligent. Don’t feel the need to comment on every single thing people say; chime in on topics you’re knowledgeable about and ask thoughtful questions about ones you’re not. Chances are the person you’re talking to will be more than happy to answer, never realizing you’re out of the loop.
If someone looks at you while you are talking, you are more likely to think he or she is smart. “Good eye contact means the other person is responsive to what you are doing or saying,” says Bogdan Wojciszke, a professor of social psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Hu-manities in Poland. “If he is not responsive, this means that either you are dull or he is dumb. With such a choice, most of us prefer to think that he is dumb.” Researchers at Brandeis University in Massachusetts, USA, found that conversationalists who maintained eye contact scored higher on IQ tests than those who avoided someone’s gaze.
4. Stand Tall
What you’re saying is important, but your body language also speaks volumes to your credibility. If you’re slumping, you’re communicating a lack of confidence not only in yourself but also in what you’re saying. On the other end of the spectrum, standing rigidly straight makes you seem nervous and uncomfortable. Shoot for something in the middle.

5. Strike a Power Pose
How open or closed your posture is conveys how open or closed you are to the physical, mental and emotional advances of others. Openness can convey confidence. To project self-assurance in a meeting, adapt an open, expansive pose. Sit up straight and leave your arms widely spread on the table or at your sides. (This also works if you are trying to attract someone’s eye.) If you are worried about projecting confidence, run through a couple of power poses—such as standing with your hands on your hips or using them to lean on your desk—in private beforehand.
6. Cut back on crutch words
Certain words and vocal tendencies are like tics: They’re hard to get rid of and sometimes we do them without even noticing. Words such as “like” and “um” make you sound unsure of yourself–as do things like uptalk, that inflection where you end your sentence in a higher tone like you’re asking a question?
7. Eliminate Pauses
Confidence is as perceptible in your voice as it is in your body language. As you have probably noticed from watching any political panel show or business meeting with multiple speakers, the ‘winner’ of the talk is usually the person who speaks most energetically and fluidly. Too many pauses make you sound unsure of yourself. If you are unconvinced by your own ideas, why should the rest of the room be convinced? Theoretical physicist Leonard Mlodinow points out the impact of this bias: “If two speakers utter exactly the same words but one speaks a little faster and louder and with fewer pauses and greater variation in volume, that speaker will be judged to be more energetic, knowledgeable and intelligent.”

8. Read More
Duh, right? But seriously, reading is arguably the most effective way to sound smarter. We’re not saying you have to tackle the unabridged works of Tolstoy, but try to read one long-form article every week: They’re usually rather in-depth, so you’ll come away with a good grasp on an interesting topic. You could also subscribe to an email newsletter that sends you a daily list of important stories summarized in just a few lines.
9. Restate Others’ Smart Points
Because of one of those unfair-but-true mental quirks, the person in a meeting who simply summarizes the good points made by everyone else will often be better remembered than the people who came up with the ideas in the first place. If you are struggling to get a word in at your next staff gathering, take notes on the best comments your co-workers deliver. Near the end of the meeting, restate these ideas in a concise, matter-of-fact way. Even when giving credit to your co-workers, you will sound smarter.
10. Take control
You’re at a dinner party, and the woman you’re talking to brings up her work in, ack, nuclear astrophysics, we think? Instead of trying to fake your way through a conversation, try to subtly switch gears to something you’re more comfortable with. (“Nuclear astrophysics? Cool, that’s what my freshman roommate studied, but now she’s a SoulCycle instructor. Have you ever tried Soul?”)
11. Tell Some Jokes
Women find men they overhear telling funny jokes to be smarter and more attractive than those heard talking about mundane topics. Other studies have shown that funny women similarly appear smarter to others. There may be some validity to this, because a certain level of intellect is required to consistently make clever remarks. According to an article published in The Conversation by Lowri Dowthwaite, lecturer in Psychological Interventions, University of Central Lancashire, UK, evolutionary psychologists describe humour as a “heritable trait” that signals mental fitness and intellectual agility to prospective mates. In studies of attractiveness, both men and women rate funny people as more attractive, and cite having a good sense of humour as being one of the most important traits in a long-term partner. So you can use humour as a hard-to-fake cue to your intelligence. Just don’t forget the punchline!
12. Don’t use SAT words
Using big, intimidating words doesn’t make you sound smarter; it just makes you sound like you’re trying way too hard. It’s akin to when you wrote essays in college and used every inconsequential and superfluous filler word to occupy the vast expanse of unfilled page before of you. (See what we did there?) Instead, use clear, direct words and make your point. It’s far less pretentious, and the people you’re addressing will actually understand what you’re saying.

How to measure oxygen level with oximeter at home

Pulse Oximetry : Purpose, uses, Procedure, Readings
How to check oxygen level in corona / check Oxygen saturation (SpO2) level
Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive and painless test. The pulse oximeter measures your oxygen saturation level, or the oxygen levels in your blood. It can detect efficiency of oxygen carried to organs like heart, legs and the arms.
The pulse oximeter is a small, clip-like device. It attaches to a body part, like toes or an earlobe. We just have to put it on a finger. A critical care setting like emergency rooms or hospitals often use the oximeter. Some doctors, such as pulmonologists, may use it in office.
Pulse oximeter normal range
Normal pulse oximeter readings usually range from 95 to 100 percent. Values under 90 percent are considered low.
Pulse Oximetry purpose and uses
The purpose of pulse oximetry is to check how well your heart is pumping oxygen through your body.
It monitors the health of individuals with any type of condition that can affect blood oxygen levels, especially while they’re in the hospital. These conditions include:
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- asthma
- pneumonia
- lung cancer
- anemia
- heart attack or heart failure
- congenital heart defects
There are a number of different common use cases for pulse oximetry, including:
- assess how well a new lung medication is working
- evaluate whether someone needs help breathing
- evaluate how helpful a ventilator is
- monitor oxygen levels during or after surgical procedures that require sedation
- determine how effective supplemental oxygen therapy is, especially when treatment is new
- assess someone’s ability to tolerate increased physical activity
- evaluate whether someone momentarily stops breathing while sleeping — like in cases of sleep apnea — during a sleep study
How pulse oximetry works
During a pulse oximetry reading, a small clamp-like device is placed on a finger, earlobe, or toe. Small beams of light pass through the blood in the finger, measuring the amount of oxygen. It does this by measuring changes of light absorption in oxygenated or deoxygenated blood. This is a painless process.
The pulse oximeter will thus be able to tell you your oxygen saturation levels along with your heart rate.
Procedure steps
Pulse oximetry may be used in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In some cases, your doctor may recommend that you have a pulse oximeter for home use.
The pulse oximetry process is as follows:
- Most commonly, a clip-like device will be placed on your finger, earlobe, or toe. You may feel a small amount of pressure, but there is no pain or pinching. In some cases, a small probe may be placed on your finger or forehead with a sticky adhesive. You may be asked to remove your fingernail polish if it’s being attached to a finger.
- You’ll keep the probe on for as long as needed to monitor your pulse and oxygen saturation. When monitoring physical activity capabilities, this will be during the extent of the exercise and during the recovery period. During surgery, the probe will be attached beforehand and removed once you’re awake and no longer under supervision. Sometimes, it will only be used to take a single reading very quickly.
- Once the test is over, the clip or probe will be removed.
Pulse oximetry readings
Pulse oximetry is typically a fairly accurate test. This is especially true when using high-quality equipment found in most medical offices or hospital settings. It consistently provides results within a 2-percent difference either way of what it truly is. If your reading was 82 percent, for example, your true oxygen saturation level may be anywhere from 80 to 84 percent. However, the quality of the waveform and assessment of the individual must be considered. Factors such as movement, temperature, or nail polish can impact the accuracy.
Typically, more than 89 percent of your blood should be carrying oxygen. This is the oxygen saturation level needed to keep your cells — and your body — healthy. While having an oxygen saturation below this temporarily is not believed to cause damage, repeat or consistent instances of lowered oxygen saturation levels may be damaging.
An oxygen saturation level of 95 percent is considered normal for most healthy individuals. A level of 92 percent indicates potential hypoxemia, or deficiency in oxygen reaching tissues in the body.
What’s next?
Once the test is over, your care provider will have the readings available immediately. This will help them determine if other testing or treatment is necessary. If you’re evaluating how successful your oxygen supplementation therapy is, for example, a reading that’s still on the low side might indicate the need for more oxygen.
Your healthcare provider will be able to tell you what the next steps are. If you’re using pulse oximetry at home, they’ll let you know how often to take your readings and what to do if they go above or below certain levels.
Conclusion
Pulse oximetry is a quick, noninvasive, and completely painless test. It comes with no risks aside from potential skin irritation from the adhesive used in some types of probes.

In cases where you want to use automatic login but don’t want to unlock keyring manually, you may choose to disable the keyring with a workaround. Keep in mind that you are disabling a security feature so think twice before doing so.
Gnome keyring auto unlock
The process is similar to changing keyring password. Open Password and Keys application and go on to change the keyring password.
The trick is that when it asks to change the password, don’t enter a new password and hit Continue instead. This will remove any password from the keyring.

This way, the keyring will have no password and it remains unlocked all the time.
